Pickled Red Onion

Add a punch of flavor to every meal with our lip-smacking pickled red onions!

Tools:
Cutting Board
Chef's Knife
Heat-Resistant Bowl
Colander
Hot Water (onion soak)
Measuring Cup/Spoons
Wisk/Spoon/Fork (for mixing)
Jar or Storage Container
Tongs

Ingredients:
1 tbsp Pale Heat Salt Free | Not Just Taco Seasoning
1 Red Onion (size varies based on how much you want - I used a third of a medium onion)
1/2 cup White Vinegar
1/2 cup Hot Water
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Sugar

Instructions:
Slice onions to desired size and shape. Place a heat-resistant colander in a heat-resistant bowl. Place the onions in the colander, then cover with hot water. Let sit for about a minute. While you wait on that, mix up your brine. In a measuring cup, pour vinegar, hot water, salt, and sugar. Give it a thorough mix until the granules have disintegrated.

Once the brine is thoroughly combined, drain the onions by removing the colander from the bowl. Place the drained onions in the jar, and pour the brine over the onions. Add the Pale Heat seasoning to the jar. Put on the lid, and give it a vigorous shake.

Let sit for a day to allow flavors to infuse, or enjoy immediately. These last about a week in the fridge.
